Whipple has already come up with a supercharger kit for the 2015 Ford Mustang GT’s 5.0 liter V8 engine. That engine makes 420 horsepower in its standard factory tune, but Whipple promises to take that output up to a staggering 700 horsepower. That 5.0 has a lot of potential for upgrade.
That is more than what the current Shelby GT500 makes. The 2015 Mustang supercharger kit includes a 2.9 liter Whipple twin-screw supercharger along with piping and intercooler, delivering more HP per PSI than any other system.
Everything about the Whipple system is massive. It outsizes the renowned Eaton system by 600cc, features 170mm Crusher oval inlet, massive air-to-water aluminum bar-plate intercooler, oversized bypass system, self-contained oversized oil system, and center discharge port for better cylinder to cylinder distribution. The kit also comes with 65lb/hr high flow fuel injectors and oversized heat exchanger.
The result of all those oversized stuff is that running on 91-octane fuel, the 2015 Mustang supercharger kit by Whipple delivers 700 horsepower and a flat torque curve for awesome acceleration. You can also upgrade the kit with big cold air intakes and bigger throttle bodies.
