Subaru has come up with just the thing to create some serious hype for the launch of the new WRX STI. It’s an overly ambitious, fairly optimistic, and slightly comical trailer, depicting the 2015 Subaru WRX STI as the hero car in a bad boy/hot girl love story. It even has a provoking title: The Ride of Her Life!

The action-packed trailer does a good job of showcasing the WRX’s capabilities in running rings around most vehicles. But the bit about it pulling a girl like that is a bit exaggerated; especially when you look at the demographic of the typical WRX buyers. Still, it’s a pretty good watch:

With the Mitsubishi Evo now shelved and no definite date set for its return, the 2015 Subaru WRX STI is going to enjoy years of trouble-free reign. The new generation of the car is a thorough and complete improvement over its predecessors, both visually and mechanically. It is the first properly good-looking WRX, and with a 305-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged engine and a host of advanced electronics, it is also an absolute hoot to drive. Don’t try to smash any rod sign with it though. That could end badly.
