Citroen’s rich lineup at this year’s Beijing Auto Show includes a very cool concept car called the C-XR. Like the DS 6WR production car they unveiled at the show, Citroen C-XR Concept is also a SUV, but it is sportier and enjoys greater freedom in terms of design.
The highlights of the exterior design, which may soon be seen on Citroen’s production models, include an imposing chrome grille, signature headlights with LED daytimers, C-shaped side signature, and 3D-effect rear lights. Due to its sporty nature, the C-XR rides on 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-season tires.
Boasting a wheelbase of 2.65 meters, Citroen C-XR Concept promises a saloon-style driving position inside the cabin, where the occupants enjoys a large glass panoramic roof, suspension tuned for optimal ride comfort, and a host of technology features.
The car is powered by a THP 160 petrol engine with Stop&Start and a latest generation automatic gearbox. It is quite versatile though, thanks to its light weight and the onboard Grip Control technology which provides optimal traction without the need to use a four-wheel-drive system that would increase fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
