Volkswagen Golf, as you may know, turns 40 this year, and so the German car maker decided to celebrate this significant milestone in top-notch hatchbackery with a one-off concept car. It is called the Golf Edition Concept, and almost everything on it is in one way or another bespoke.
Unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, the Volkswagen Golf Edition Concept features a new “Magic Morning” paint job which has a striking golden shimmer depending on the angle of vision. It is complemented by matte chrome mirror caps, exclusive 19-inch wheels, and “40” emblems on the B-pillars.
Inside the cabin, Golf Edition Concept is fitted with two-tone leather upholstery with exclusive diamond pattern stitch, and is the only modern Golf to feature wood inlays and piano finish. There are also illuminated door sill plates and floor mats with the same diamond stitching as the seats.
Volkswagen Golf is one of the most successful cars ever built with over 30 million units sold to date.
