The first details about the 2015 Volkswagen Passat become available as the official design sketches of the car reveal its looks. The car is set for debut at the next Paris Motor Show and it will go on sale in 2015 packed with some nice features.
The new Passat appears to be moving, albeit very slowly, upmarket. The sketches suggest the new model has a more grown up with features like prominent front grille, LED headlights, a sleek profile with sloping roof line, and flared wheel arches. We won’t be surprised if they discontinue the CC after this.
2015 Volkswagen Passat will come, as usual, with a range of frugal engine, none of them very exciting to be honest. But there is a new hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.4 liter TSI unit and electric motor developing a combined 204 PS and capable of driving for up to 50 km solely on electricity.
As for the features and equipment, the new VW Passat is blessed with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, almost like what we saw in the new Audi TT, and a head-up display system, not to mention an advanced infotainment system with the latest connectivity features.
