Volkswagen released a short video showcasing the Worthersee-bound GTI Roadster concept in action. The car is a virtual concept, so as you’d expect the driving footage is also virtual and happens in the Gran Turismo 6, a video game the car is designed for.
Volkswagen GTI Roadster will turn up at the Worthersee event as a full-scale model. It features an open-top two-seater body with massively flared arches and a giant rear wing. The front-end is unmistakably Golf GTI though, boasting the familiar grille and headlights combo.

The powertrain envisioned for Volkswagen GTI Roadster is a heavily tuned VR6 engine developing 500 horsepower and over 660 Nm of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and benefits from 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. So theoretically, it should be pretty fast.
