Following an early leak yesterday, BMW has now revealed the new-look X6 Sport Activity Vehicle in full. The 2015 BMW X6 retains the character and the aesthetics of the old model, but tries to make up for its shortcomings with new features and equipment.

So yes, your adult friends would still be uncomfortable at the back owing to the lack of headroom, but at least you get an automatic tailgate and an M-inspired interior. What’s more, the big new headlights, which appear to have come straight from an X5, are now bi-xenon as standard, and the sport suspension is complemented with 19-inch wheels.

The exterior of the 2015 BMW X6, as we discussed before, may not appeal to everybody. There is not denying it is less cool than the outgoing version. However, the interior of the new car is a total success, what with a new M steering wheel, dark chrome trims, Dakota leather, and new features such as upgraded infotainment system and dual zone climate control.

As for the engines, the 2015 BMW X6 launches with a 330 kW/450 hp for the xDrive50i, a 190 kW/258 hp six-cylinder in-line diesel engine for the xDrive30d and another straight-six diesel with three turbochargers and 280 kW/381 hp in the M50d. Later on, xDrive35i (225 kW/306 hp) and xDrive40d (230 kW/313 hp) will be added to the model range. All models, of course, feature intelligent all-wheel-drive system as standard.

The new X6 will go on sale in December 2014.
