BMW tuner Alpina announced the launch of their new B4 Bi-Turbo, which is an alternative for the M4, in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The sports car comes as a coupe or a convertible, and promises more comfort and refinement than the original M car.
That doesn’t mean Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo is not fast, of course. The whole point of buying a 400+ horsepower coupe is because you want to go fast. The B4 is equipped with a tuned straight-six turbo engine that makes 410 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque.
The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds (four-wheel-drive versions in 4.0 seconds – not available in the UK), while returning 37 mpg. So Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo is not just as quick as the M4, but it offers 90 percent the performance of that car without shouting about it.
That brings us to the coolest thing about the B4, which is its understated looks. You get a subtle body kit, sober colors, and classic Alpina wheels, plus an interior full of warm leather and wood. It also gets eight-speed automatic gearbox, Adaptive M Sport Suspension, electrically adjustable heated sports seats, climate control and Bi-Xenon headlights.
Prices for the Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo in the UK start from £58,950 for the coupe and £62,950 for the convertible.
