We have been hearing a lot about the Golf R 400 Concept since its debut at the Beijing Auto Show. The car has reportedly been confirmed for production with the same exact looks and specs as the concept version. That is good news, because it means – judging by this video – the R 400 is going to sounds awesome!

This is the first time we get to hear the exhaust noise of VW Golf R 400. The car was spotted in Vienna where it was briefly on public display:

VW Golf R 400 is powered by a heavily-tuned 2.0 liter TFSI engine developing 400 horsepower, hence the name. The concept version has a normal 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, but the entire drivetrain will be beefed-up and reinforced so it can cope with all that power. Theoretically, the R400 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h I under 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h.
