Cars are a lot like software these days. Each year car makers release a slightly updated version featuring a few tweaks and maybe a couple of new features. The 2015 Range Rover family has just got such an update including new personalization options, upgraded engines, and new tech features.

The SDV8 engine available in the 2015 Range Rover and RR Sport now comes with an extra 40 Nm of torque to provide effortless overtaking ability and enhanced towing capability. Meanwhile the ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic gearbox has been re-engineered with a revised torque converter incorporating a twin-spring damper. Despite improved performance, CO₂ emissions remain unchanged at 32.5mpg and 229g/km CO₂.

As for the convenience features, 2015 Range Rover including RWB and Sport get updated puddle lamps and fixed panoramic roofs with power blinds, as well as 19-inch alloy wheels with a Satin Dark Grey finish. These are available as options, part of the new personalization possibilities which also include new Aruba silver and Kaikoura Stone colors, and 22-inch alloy wheel for the LWB model.

2015 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport also get the firm’s new InControl Remote and InControl Secure as standard. InControl Remote includes an integrated SOS Emergency Call, Optimised Land Rover Assistance and a Smartphone App. It can be order Wi-Fi ready. InControl Secure tracks the vehicle should it be stolen.
