Mercedes-Benz designers worked hard to strike a balance between elegance and sportiness with the current generation CLS-Class. The owner of this CLS63, by the looks of things, decided they’ve overdone it on the elegance, and set about making it less so by wrapping the car in matte green.
This special wrap – I think you can call it matte Verde Ithaca – works well on sports cars like Lamborghini Gallardo for example, but not so well on a Mercedes CLS63 AMG. Giving the CLS this treatment is like forcing the president of a big corporation appearing in meetings in a track suit. It’s just wrong.
This CLS63 was spotted in London with AlThani number plate, which means it’s an Arab car, and that kind of explains a lot. It features a carbon fiber AMG kit including front spoiler lip, boot lid spoiler, and carbon mirrors as well as blacked-out panoramic roof.
Engine-wise, the Mercedes CLS63 AMG comes with a twin-turbo 5.5 liter V8 known internally as the M157, developing around 530 horsepower.
