Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is pretty much dead and gone, and if you needed proof to believe it, here it is. This is supposed to be the new 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, but they couldn’t be bothered making it look new. In fact, the biggest highlight of this model is the addition of new cup holders, which is kinda sad.
So the ‘new’ Mitsubishi Lancer Evo is probably a last hurrah before it gets killed off, and it will only be available in the American market. Perhaps that is why the pictures they have released are so dark and gloomy.
In fairness though, there is more to this car than cupholders, but you have to get the Premium Package to benefit from them. Premium Package includes Sight and Sound Package plus leather seating, power glass sunroof, heated front seats, sound dampening enhancement and piano-black front console box. Moving up to the MR model will give you access to 9 speaker 710-watt Rockford Fosgate premium sound system, FAST-key entry system, Auto dimming rearview mirror, Rain-sensing wipers, Auto on/off headlights, and Color-keyed heat extractor vents.
What we will most about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo when it’s dropped is its fantastic drivetrain. The S-AWC four-wheel-drive system, combined with Active Yaw Control (AYC), Active Center Differential (ACD), Active Stability Control (ASC) and Sport Anti-lock Braking (ABS), is a pretty unbeatable setup. The 290 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine is also a serious bit of kit.
