Caterham cars announced the launch two new models especially for the US market. The Caterham Seven 480 and 360 will make their official debut at Monterey Car Week and then immediately go on sale through Superformance dealerships, Caterham’s representative in the country.
As for the specs and details, both Caterham Seven 480 and 360 are powered by the same two-litre Ford Duratec engine. In the 480 model the engine is tuned at 237BHP which results in a 0 to 62 time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 140 mph. The 380 model is tuned at 180BHP, does 0 to 62 in 4.9 seconds, and reached a top speed of 130 mph.
Visually both cars are pretty much identical, since they are both Sevens, save the paint job, which we reckon is customizable. The list of luxury features you get with the Caterham Seven includes a windscreen, wipers, and that’s about it!
Then again, you don’t buy a Caterham to use it everday. It is a track toy, and as far as track toys go, it’s a bloody good one. Prices start at $44,900 for the Seven 360 and $52,900 for the Seven 480.
