SR Auto Group recently commissioned a special photoshoot with three Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series in Vancouver, Canada. You can consider this a tribute to the C63 Black which will soon be killed off, along with its magnificent 6.2 V8 engine, to make room for an all-new version.
We have three Black Series C63s here, two white and one matte black, all equipped with the full aero kit consisting of front splitter and winglets, and rear spoiler. All these bits are of course made from carbon fiber and besides having positive aerodynamic effect, they also give the C63 a unique look.
What we will be missing most about the Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series is its engine. The naturally-aspirated 6.2 liter AMG V8 is officially replaced with a 5.5 liter bi-turbo, which itself will soon be replaced with a more efficient 4.0 liter unit. The new engines make more power than the old one, but they really can’t match its smoothness, responsiveness, soundtrack, and the overall sweetness of the 6.2.
