The new Mercedes AMG GT will make its official debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show in September. Until then, the German car maker gradually reveals some facts and figures about the car, and we get closer to the debut day, they get more and more interesting.
In this latest teaser video the engineers talk about the superb handling and performance of Mercedes AMG GT, and how they managed to make the car lighter and maybe even more poised and balanced than the benchmark in this segment. They don’t name it, but we all know they mean Porsche 911.
Light weight and advanced technology are only parts of what makes Mercedes AMG GT a hoot and half to drive. The main reason behind that is a brand-new 4.0 liter AMG V8 engine with 510 horsepower, which according to those who have sampled it, is very sweet, but not as responsive as the old 6.2 non-turbo V8. That is fair enough, because nothing is as smooth and brilliant as the discontinued M156.
