As you may remember, a while ago the Stig broke into Lotus F1 team headquarters and drove away with one of their cars. Back then it was not clear why the Stig needs a Formula 1 car. As it turned out, he needed that car for a stunt that has never been done before: F1 Bungee Jump!

He shipped the car to South Africa, presumably because nowhere else in the world they would allow him to jump off a crane in an F1 car. Come to think of it, this was a better use of Lotus F1 cars than racing them. Well it was more entertaining.

Here’s what happened:

The real purpose of this whole affair was, of course, Top Gear Festival Durban. It was evidently one of the coolest Top Gear Live events. Besides the F1 Bungee Jump stunt, the Stig also played around with dirt bikes, off-road buggies, and an extremely shiny Ford Mustang.
