Audi released details of its updated A6 range, including high-performance S6 and RS6 variants. The Ingolstadt-based company is the pioneer of fast wagon segment, and judging by what they have prepared for the 2015 RS6, they are still at the top of this game.
Before we get to the 2015 Audi RS6 Avant though, let’s have a look at the specs of the new S6. It is amazing that a car powered by a 450 horsepower V8 and the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds (4.6 for the Avant) is not the range-topping model. It does offer a great compromise between performance and efficiency though, averaging over 30 mpg.
Both Audi S6 and S6 Avant come as standard with quattro permanent all?wheel drive incorporating the sports differential and the adaptive air suspension, which lowers the body by 20 millimetres. Matt black brake calipers grip the front discs mounted behind the 19?inch wheels.
The 2015 Audi RS6 is powered by the same 4.0-litre TFSI engine as the S6, but here it produces a mind-boggling 560 horsepower. The RS does the 0-60 thing in 3.9 seconds and as for fuel economy, it’s still pretty great at 29 mpg.
The RS adaptive air suspension lowers the body by 20 millimetres, but customers also have the option of conventionally sprung RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC). The large brake discs feature a weight-saving wave design, and the wheels measure 20 inches in diameter. 21?inch wheels are available as an option.
