Mercedes-Benz revealed the official pricing and specs of the new S500 Plug-in Hybrid for the British market, and they include some mind-bogging numbers. This big, luxurious saloon is capable of 100.9 mpg and emits nor more than 65 g/km of CO2.

Those numbers become more astonishing when you realize that Mercedes S500 Hybrid can also do 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph. What’s more, it only comes in long wheelbase version, so there has been no compromise on luxury, comfort, and convenience.

To enjoy all this goodness you have to pay £87,965, which sounds like a lot of money for sure, but then Mercedes S500 Hybrid is one of only a handful of ultra-lux cars you can drive into the center of London for free, as it is fully exempt from the congestion charge.

The S500 plug-in hybrid is powered by a V6 biturbo petrol engine producing 333 hp and an electric motor developing 116 hp. That makes for a total system output of 442 hp and 650 Nm of torque, and over 20-miles of pure electric drive.

Standard features include 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, AMG body styling for the front and rear bumpers, the LED intelligent light system, COMAND Online, noise insulating glass, leather upholstery and the front seat memory package. You also get advanced equipment such as hot stone massage, ambient lighting, seatbelt-mounted airbags, a perfume diffuser system called Air Balance, magic body control, and so on.
