Aston Martin Works is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the brand with a six-pack. They include six bespoke Aston Martin Vanquish 60th Anniversary editions prepared by the firm’s ‘Q’ department, which is where all the special models and one-offs are built.
The six Aston Martin Vanquish 60th Anniversary will be based on the 2015 Coupe and Volante models. Each will feature subtle differences that set it apart from the rest of the pack in terms of color, interior trim, and extra garnish like stitching and exotic material.
But the coolest extra fitted to each of the six Vanquish 60th is a number of bespoke rotaries taken from the engines of iconic Astons of the past. Don’t worry, they won’t be used in the new cars’ engines, but rather on the consoles and around major controls as a sort of unique decorative feature.
Laser etched with Works’ Anniversary wording, the rotaries are taken from pistons of an engine that has been rebuilt or reworked. The cars that provided the parts include 1955-1965: DB 2/4 Mk II saloon; 1965-1975: DB5; 1975-1985: V8 Coupe; 1985-1995: V8 Vantage X-pack; 1995-2005: V8 Vantage supercharged; and 2005-2015: Original Vanquish.
