The crash-prone Australian racing driver – and former F1 star – Mark Webber has been involved in yet another spectacular accident, this time at Interlagos, Brazil, during a World Endurance Championship event. He was driving a Porsche 919 Hybrid prototype.

Over the years we have seen Mark Webber in a number of accidents, all of them quite spectacular and amazing to watch, and also potentially lethal. He once went airborne in a Mercedes Le Mans car, and when he was in Formula 1 he tried to do it again by mounting a Lotus and doing a full 360 in the air.

The most recent Webber crash, as you can watch below, didn’t have the same flair, but it was possibly the most hurtful of them all. And there was fire, which made the whole thing more dramatic. The big Aussie, who escaped all the previous mishaps with barley a scar, was hospitalized after the WEC crash. Fortunately, it wasn’t anything serious; just a precaution in case something got loose over night!

“Mark is OK, but he has had to go to hospital for further checks,” Porsche LMP1 boss Fritz Enzinger told Autosport. “We have spoken to him and said that people can go and see him, so Timo [Bernhard] and Brendon [Hartley, Webber’s team-mates] have gone to the hospital.”
