New Ford Focus RS Debuts in Four Days!

Ford Focus RS teaser 600x352 at New Ford Focus RS Debuts in Four Days!

So yesterday we told you about the possibility of a Fiesta RS being under development deep within Ford Performance center. That’s as may be. What is 100 percent guaranteed to happen is the launch of an all-new Ford Focus RS on 3 February during a live webcast from Cologne, Germany.

The third-generation Ford Focus RS will be unveiled by the company’s top brass during a special ceremony at a unique venue in Ford’s European headquarters, where the RS badge first debuted 48 years ago. ‘RS’ for Ford is a badge with huge significance, as they’ve done some of their best works under it.

As for the specs and details of the new Ford Focus RS, no official details are available yet. But hearsay suggests Ford may use the 2.3 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder out of the new Mustang for this model, coupled with a performance-oriented all-wheel-drive system. This way they cure the torque steer from which all the previous generations of the car suffered.

Present at the unveiling event will be Jim Farley, executive vice president, and president Europe, Middle East and Africa; Raj Nair, group vice president, Global Product Development; and Ford of Europe’s Joe Bakaj, vice president, Product Development, as well as “some very special guests.”
