Chris Harris, judging by his previous videos, is a huge fan of AMG engines and AMG cars in general. So his verdict on the new Mercedes C63 AMG, which he recently drove on road and track, is of utmost importance. Thing is, the new C63 has a twin-turbo V8 in place of the old 6.2 unit. How will that affect the character of the car?
The Mercedes C63 AMG review is one of those thoroughly enjoyable Chris Harris videos with full road and track sessions as well as an ‘underskin’ part in which Chris explains the new technology features of the car:
Just to recap, the new Mercedes C63 AMG comes with the same 4.0 liter bi-turbo V8 you find in the AMG GT, only here it is tuned at 475 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. That is the standard guise. If you go for the S-Model you get the full-fat 510 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, in which case you will be able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds.
Standard are AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed transmission and AMG RIDE CONTROL system, but only the S-Model gets a locking rear differential.
