No, the car wasn’t spotted in Vegas. That’s just the name of this rather shiny yellow color it is sporting – Vegas Yellow. This 2016 Audi R8 V10 Plus has been photographed at Audi Forum in Neckarsulm, Germany, where it is on public display for the first time.
Regardless of the interesting color, seeing this Audi R8 V10 Plus in the flesh is quite an occasion in itself, as it looks substantially different from the normal R8 V10, which we heavily criticized for not looking that much different from the car it replaced. The V10 Plus gets enough new feature to make it distinguishable over the previous generation with just one glance.
Gone is the side blades, as with the standard R8, and instead you get larger air intakes, side vents, and rear air ducts. As part of the ‘Plus’ package, you also get a larger front spoiler, rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing. Truth be told, none of these features do the R8’s looks any good. But they do improve its aerodynamics, which is part of the reason why it is a great driver’s car.
Powering the Audi R8 V10 is a 610 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque V10 engine, hooked up to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a sophisticated quattro AWD system. Together they enable the car to hit 100 km/h from 0 in 3.2 seconds. The V10 Plus starts from 187,400 EUR.
