Mercedes-Benz announced the pricing of the new GLE-Class, previously known as the M-Class, shortly after the car’s world debut at the New York Auto Show. Based on this information, the base model of the 2016 Mercedes GLE starts at 45,350 Euros, and it goes up to a hefty 93,600 Euros for the GLE 63 S 4MATIC AMG.
For that 45 grand one can spend on the base model, one will receive a 2016 Mercedes GLE 250 d base model with a 200-hp diesel engine and rear-wheel drive. The same car with four-wheel-drive will cost around 2,500 Euros more.
If you want something half decent, you are going to have to spend at least 51,050 Euros and get the GLE 350 d with a 250-hp engine and standard 4MATIC. The same sort of money can also buy you the GLE 400 4MATIC petrol model with 333 horsepower, or if you add 10 grand to it, you can have the GLE 500 e hybrid with 442 hp and better fuel efficiency.
The finest version of the 2016 Mercedes GLE you can choose though is the 63 AMG model, available in two normal (557 hp) and S-model (585 hp). A fully-loaded GLE 63 S AMG with all the bells and whistles fitted can cost up to 121,261 Euros, which truth be told is preposterous for a SUV which, in all honesty, is not very good at off-roading, doesn’t offer the best interior quality or space in its class, and looks somewhat peculiar.
