Even though they were rather quiet about it, the lineup Mercedes-Benz has brought to this year’s New York Auto Show is a pretty diverse one featuring an all-new model making its world premiere at the show. We re talking about the new Mercedes GLE which replaces the old M-Class in the range.

Apart from a new name, the new Mercedes GLE also boasts fresh looks, although changes are quite subtle, efficient new petrol engines, a not-so-efficient but enticingly powerful (577 hp) AMG V8, and a brilliant hybrid powertrain with 440 horsepower and the ability to do up to 85.6 mpg.

The new GLE Class was joined at the Mercedes-Benz booth by the GLE Coupe, its sport activity sibling, which comes in two normal and powerful AMG 63 guise. This one is less practical than the normal GLE, but it is more appealing aesthetically – if you don’t want a BMW X6, that is!

Other highlights of Mercedes display at NYIAS include a range of 65 AMG models including the S-Class, S65 AMG Coupe and the G65 AMG which is now on sale in the United States. AMG is also represented by the new Mercedes C63 AMG.

The more sensible people might enjoy the sight of the exquisitely beautiful S550 4MATIC Coupe, the GLE450 AMG Sport Coupe, and the C300 4MATIC Sedan. Meanwhile, posh people who can spend big bucks on cars should check out the Mercedes-Maybach S600 and the AMG GT
