This is what the winner of this year’s MotoGP BMW M Award will take home with him, an exclusive Frozen Blue BMW M6 Convertible. This year the award will be presented to the rider with the best qualifying results at the end of the season.
This is a seriously cool incentive for the rider to try harder and pop in faster lap times. The one-off BMW M6 Convertible prize is based on the latest version of the super GT and features not only a prominent aero kit and exclusive 20-inch wheels, it also has that utterly unique paint work which makes it a real head-turner.
Those looks are supported by a huge amount of fire power in form of a 4.4 liter bi-turbo V8 engine developing 560 horsepower. The BMW M6 Convertible accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in an impressive 4.3 seconds and boasts a limited top speed of 250 km/h. It comes with a double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic, Dynamic Damper Control, and Active M Differential.
“We are very proud that the BMW M Award is held in such high esteem within MotoGP,” said Axel Mittler, Head of Cooperation MotoGP at BMW M Division. “This award is also an important part of our long and successful partnership with MotoGP. For this reason, it is very important for us to provide a genuine highlight as the prize each year. For the 2015 season we opted for our new BMW M6 Convertible, which enjoyed its world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show in January. We now have our fingers crossed for all MotoGP riders in the race for this year’s BMW M Award.”
