The first proper upgrade package for the new 2015 MINI John Cooper Works comes from the German firm Maxi-Tuner. The high-performance MINI is a fairly potent car when it leaves the factory with 230 horsepower. What MT does is make it a little bit spicier.
So in this program Maxi equips the MINI John Cooper Works with a TUV-approved plug and play ECU module that increases the power output to 260 horsepower and 390 Nm. It costs 990 Euros which sounds reasonable for 30 extra horses, especially as the kit also enhances the throttle response and drivability of the car.
Another 990 Euros will buy a host of other upgrades including a stainless steel valvetronic exhaust system. It features 70mm tailpipes and a remote control system for its two operating modes. So to sum up, Maxi-Tuner MINI John Cooper Works offers a decent power upgrade and a sportier noise than the standard version. These should be enough to make the driving experience of the car more fun.
