One of the models that kickstarted the whole million Euro hypercar trend was the Lamborghini Reventon launched in 2009 as a super special version of the Murcielago. After that came the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster, limited to 15 units and sporting a pre-tax price tag of 1.1 Million Euro. It was a truly significant machine, and yet not many people remember it.
That is probably due to the highly collectible nature of the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster and the fact that they are stored away in safe places, waiting for the day when they can fetch five or six million Euro in a prestigious auction. Luckily though, YouTube’s wheeler dealer SaabKyle, in partnership with British buddy Shmee150, managed to track one of them down and produce this amazing, up close video of it. You do not want to miss this:
Featuring a bespoke Reventon Grey paint job and weighing in at 1690 Kg, Lamborghini Reventon Roadster is powered by a dry sump V12 engine developing 670 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 Km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 330 Km/h (205 mph). One of the biggest highlights of this model, apart from its astonishing looks, is aircraft-style instruments with two transreflective and one transmissive liquid-crystal displays. The driver can switch between two modes at the touch of a button – one digital view with illuminated bars and one level with classic round dials, albeit with changing color graphics
