By today’s super car standards, the new 2015 Audi R8 V10 Plus is not that hot. The car has ‘only’ 610 horsepower and thanks to four-wheel-drive and lots of luxury amenities it is also on the heavy side of things. Still, turns out the V10 Plus is pretty damn agile, on the evidence of how it accelerates from 0 to its top speed of 338 km/h.

This is courtesy of the guys at Sport Auto who took are currently running an in-depth test of the new Audi R8 V10 Plus to see what it’s made of. They first took the car to the Nurburgring and then did this zero to top speed test with Launch Control. This also gives you a good demo of the R8’s digital instrument cluster, which frankly is a bit too busy for our liking:

The engine in the 2015 Audi R8 V10 Plus is a sweet thing, but we are mostly blown away by the performance of the drivetrain consisting of a 7-speed S tronic transmission and a newly developed quattro drive system. This is the most efficient we’ve ever seen any high performance car change gear, and it’s so damn quick too. The V10 Plus is priced at 187,400 euros which is a lot, but you could justify it after watching this video!
