Mixing the star of this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mercedes IAA Concept, with the AMG GT sports car, designer Theophilus Chin has come up with an interesting car that could be Mercedes’s rival for the Tesla Model S. Either that, or the basis for the next-gen CLS, since it’s a sick four-door coupe!

Of course, the biggest the highlight of Mercedes IAA Concept is its ability to change its shape and become more aerodynamic at high speed. That key characteristic is gone in this design proposal. Instead of the armadillo-like feature here you get the front of an AMG GT and the back end of S-Class Coupe. It’s still a good look though.

So yes, with all that in mind we reckon this rendering is best viewed as the next four-door coupe by Mercedes-Benz. Not that they would launch a car with the exact same front-end as a model already in production, but you get the idea. This thing has by far the sexiest swooping roof we’ve ever seen.
