Just in time for autumn, Mercedes-Benz announced the launch of two new special edition versions of the Mercedes E-Class Coupe and Cabrio models. These fine cars were getting buried under everything that’s going on with the C- and S-Class models at the moment, so this is an effort to put them back in the spotlight.
Mercedes E-Class Coupe and Cabrio Sport Edition come with a range of visual as well as technical upgrades that are designed to boost the appeal of these fairly grown-up sports cars. So they get a front apron with distinctive air inlets, a louvre in the radiator trim in high-gloss black with chrome inserts as well as muscular side sill panels, diffuser-look rear apron, AMG boot lid wing, and 18-inch wheels. There is also “Sport” badges, AGILITY CONTROL sports suspension, and perforated brake discs with special calipers.
Inside the cabin you will find black-leather upholstered multicontour seats – with linarite blue and alpaca grey topstitching also for the door centre panels, armrest and centre console, as well as ross-grain bright aluminium trims. Optionally, you can get beige leather paired with high-gloss black ash, black piano lacquer or dark textured-grain aluminium. A sport steering wheel and sport pedals top it all off. The Sport Edition can be had with any of the engines in the range.
But if you are into V8s, then Mercedes E-Class Coupe and Cabrio is the one to go for. Basedon the 408-hp E500 model, this one comes with high-sheen 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels and “V8 Edition” badges on the wings plus special designo color, nappa leather upholstery in the colours porcelain or classic red with black contrasting edging, advanced power memory seats, and center console and instruments in black nappa leather with topstitching in porcelain or classic red.
The V8 Edition includes THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control with three climate zones, PRE SAFE, and AGILITY CONTROL, has full smartphone integration and offers MAP PILOT with COMAND Online.
