In an effort to spice up the frankly dull i3 and making it more interesting to men, BMW has partnered up with MR PORTER, an online destination for men’s style, for a limited version of the car. They say the BMW i3 MR PORTER is inspired by the classic tuxedo, which is at odds with the futuristic design of the car.
But we have to say the end result is not half bad. The blend of modern design features and a retro-inspired paint job and detailing has given the BMW i3 MR PORTER edition a unique and interesting look. The main features on the outside include a bespoke tuxedo blue paint job and hand-painted white accent running the length of the chassis.
That is pretty much it as far as the treatment stretches for the car itself, but BMW i3 MR PORTER also comes with a MR PORTER Essentials Travel Kit that consists of a BMW i leather holdall and four items exclusive to MR PORTER: a black and white London undercover umbrella, a special edition Leica camera, Cutler & Gross sunglasses, Lock & Co bowler hat and a bespoke edition of Phaidon City Guide Book.
Priced at £43,500, the limited edition i3 is powered by 170hp and 250Nm electric motor which enables a 0-62 mph time of 7.2 seconds. Depending on how you drive it, the i3 has a range of 80 –100 miles on one charge.
