The opening night of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show is seeing the debut of some seriously high-powered machines. We’ve looked at the Pagani Huayra BC and the new Bugatti Chiron, now let’s check out the new Rocket 900 version of Brabus Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe.
This car belongs to a class of its own since you can’t really categorize it with any other thing. It is supposed to be a luxury coupe, and it is, but then how many luxury coupe you now that boast a 6.3 V12 twin-turbo engine with 900 HP (887 bhp) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque, and can do 350 km/h (217 mph)? That is hyper car performance in a car as lavishly equipped as the Presidential suite in a five-star hotel.
The increased displacement engine in the Brabus Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe Rocket features high-end elements such as carbon air boxes, special filters and exhaust, and pressure pipes wrapped in “Gold Heat Reflection” sheathing. It is mated to a high-performance limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent and seven-speed automatic transmission with Race mode, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 3.7 seconds.
Brabus Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe Rocket also comes with a discreet but aerodynamically efficient styling kit with custom bumpers and sills, uprated brakes and suspension, Brabus Monoblock “PLATINUM EDITION” 21-inch forged wheels , and a custom interior with umbra-colored precious-wood inlays, leather upholstery, and “fire” piping.
