Bugatti has found a new use for the Gran Turismo model car they have built based on the virtual concept. Originally created to promote the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept in Gran Turismo 6 video game, the car these days serve as a good teaser for the upcoming Chiron.
It is not exactly a secret that the Chiron is based, in its design at least, on the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo. The head and taillights, the unique shape of the quarter panels, some of the aero parts even, will be used in the production model with almost no change at all. That’s a bit of a bummer because now we won’t be excited when they take the wraps of the real thing. But at least we know it looks cool, so that’s good.
The footage above was shot during a concept car show in Paris where Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo took the stage as a static display. When it’s finally turned into a production model in form of the Chiron though, the car will pack a hybrid powertrain with a mind-bending 1,500 horsepower power output and a top speed of well over 450 km/h. If you think that is insanity itself, you’re right.
