The next member of AMG’s diet models – known as the 43 series – after the C43 and E43 is the 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC. The semi-high-performance crossover strikes a good balance between exuberance, common sense, practicality and efficiency.
You can already hear the jokes, can’t you? The only reason to buy the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43, the haters will tell you, is because you can’t afford a GLE 63 AMG. But don’t listen to that nonsense. The GLC 43 is a good little SUV powered by a brilliant engine and boasting aggressive and sporty looks as well as tons of good Mercedes-y features.
The engine in question here is a 367 hp 3.0-litre V6 biturbo motor with 520 newton metres, connected to 9G-TRONIC with shortened shift times and the AMG performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive configured with a rear bias. What all this means in plain English is 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a limited top speed of 250 km/h, as well as an average fuel consumption of 8.3 l/100 km.
As you would expect Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 comes with a full host of technology features, including AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with adaptive damping, AMG DYNAMIC SELECT, three-stage ESP, and the like. There is also a good deal of luxury features, beginning with AMG body kit and grille as well as 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels, and continuing inside with AMG instrument cluster with “chequered flag” design, ARTICO leather/DINAMICA microfibre upholstery, and AMG steering wheel.
