Even the standard 230 PS MINI Cooper offers plenty of fun with its go-kart handling and cutesy looks. But driving fun is kind of like cocaine. You start by having a little and before you know it you need four or five lines to get going. That’s where tuned versions like this B&B MINI Cooper come in.
What the tuner has done here is unlock a new level of performance from the MINI’s four-pot using a high-performance intercooler, a B&B downpipe, machining of intake paths and air ducts as well as increasing the boost pressure and uploading a new software into the ECU. But just like a good drug dealer, B&B increases the power in stages, so anyone can get their suitable fix.
Stage 1 upgrade for B&B MINI Cooper JCW offers a boost to 272 horsepower with 400 Nm of torque and costs 1,298 euros. Stage 2 ups that to 286 horsepower with 430 Nm for 1950 euros. What you want though is the full-fat 300 horsepower and 465 Nm which costs 3,950 euros but drops the 0 to 100 km/h time from the standard 6.3 secs to 5.4 secs and ups the top speed from 246 km/h to over 280 km/h.
Other available B&B upgrades for the MINI include sport or racing exhaust systems, sport spring kit or KW threaded suspension V3, and high performance brake system.
