We find ourselves once again on the eve of the Wörthersee event, the annual gathering of VW fans who travel to Austria from all over Europe to talk about the Golf with each other. That means we’re going to see many, many new Golfs, and in fact here’s one, the Golf GTI Heartbeat.

This one is hailed as the second most important Wörthersee debut this year after the Clubsport S GTI which broke the Nurburgring lap record for front-wheel-drive cars. Golf GTI Heartbeat is a different thing altogether as it is an experiment made by VW apprentices or “trainees from Saxony” who were allowed to go semi mad with their ideas of a perfect Golf.

So they based their Golf GTI Heartbeat on a Golf GTI Performance and fitted it with a kicking, 1,360 watt stereo and wrapped it in a unique paint scheme. Young people, uh?

The main highlights of this special Golf include reflex silver metallic paint with the roof and front end covered in a contrasting dark grey foil, GTI honeycombs in bright tornado red, high gloss finish for the body kit, 20inch BBS rims, bucket seats, LED lighting and engraved glass covers, and of course that seven-speaker HiFi system.
