It is now an established fact that Japan has by far the craziest car culture in the world, and it shows itself best with the tuning scene over there. A good example of what we’re on about is the Shizuoka Luxury Special (SLS) tuning and custom car show. Prepares to be amazed!

With more than 180 custom and heavily modified cars – all Japanese-style – Shizuoka Luxury Special Vol.8 is the automotive equivalent of an acid trip. By the time you’re finished watching the video and looking at these pictures you are going to have some serious brain damage. But you won’t care because you’ve had a jolly good time doing it. In fact, you won’t be able to wait for the next hit…

You can think of Shizuoka Luxury Special as the Japanese version of SEMA but a LOT madder and with hotter babes. The cars are more interesting too, in our opinion, because it seems to us that unlike SEMA, at SLS it’s not the business aspect of things that comes first, but the art that is involved in preparing these amazing custom cars.
