Grab a napkin because what you are about to see will definitely make you drool like an kid with a handful of candy! I wanted to call this restomoded 1961 Mercedes 300 SL simply an eye candy, but it’s so much more than that. This car is a work of art. It’s a treasure. It’s so good, knowing you’re never going to have it actually physically hurt.

As you’d expect, this amazing 1961 Mercedes 300 SL is part of Canepa’s extensive collection. What’s more, it is one of those cars they have restored and improved themselves, as documented here in a single and HUGE photo. The car is finished in an unbelievably cool navy blue, a color that is also featured on the wheels and the dashboard, making this SL even more unique.

It’s a 300 convertible this model and boasts a brand-new color matched soft top, but a hard top is also included and we think it looks even better with that on. The best part of this car, however, is the interior which has been given a complete makeover with chrome and leather and a superb wooden steering wheel as well as super fine carpets. It also appears to have air conditioning on the evidence of that vent protruding from under the dashboard. 

Canepa hasn’t released a history for this car yet, probably to let us drink in the shape and the colors and just enjoy the aesthetics. Following their example we’re going to shut up now and let you immerse yourself in the awe of the greatness that is this 1961 Mercedes 300 SL:
