Lotus Elise 250 Special Edition 0 600x367 at Official: Lotus Elise 250 Special Edition

Lotus continues the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the company’s famous Hethel site with a new special model. The Lotus Elise 250 Special Edition comes with a lot of garnish, but at its core it is still a full blooded Lotus boasting light weight, plenty of power, and precise handling.

The mechanical highlights of Lotus Elise 250 Special Edition are familiar and include a dry weight of 899 kg, a supercharged, 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine with 246 PS and 250 Nm of torque, 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds and top speed of 154 mph (248 km/h). The car also comes with a carbon fiber aero kit that includes a front splitter, rear wing, tailgate and front access panel.

As for all the garnish we mentioned above, they begin with the choice of colors you have for Lotus Elise 250 Special Edition, metallic blue, red, yellow and white, and continue with ultralight forged wheels in silver or black, carbon fibre hardtop roof panel, carbon-fibre sports seats finished in either dark blue or dark grey leather, and stitched with a choice of contrasting colours, in-car entertainment system, air conditioning, cruise control, auxiliary driving lights, full carpets, floor mats and enhanced sound insulation.

But if you are a hard-core Lotus enthusiast do not despair because the Special Edition also gets options with more substance, such as Electronic Differential Lock, driver selectable ESP modes, and same suspension and braking components from the Elise Cup 250, including Bilstein sports dampers and Eibach coaxial coil springs and double wishbone, AP Racing twin-piston front calipers, and Brembo single-piston rear calipers. Prices for this special 250 start at £47,900.
