Following the example of Europe’s biggest auto makers Cadillac is delving deeper into the realm of driver training programs for the buyers of their high-performance V models. Christened the V-Performance Academy, this shindig is a two-day event in which the customers are lodged in luxury condos and fed a lot of food. And there’s some driving going on in between.

At least that’s what we understand from reviewing the V-Performance Academy itinerary for the 2017 models. It says that the program begins with transportation to and from Las Vegas McCarren International Airport and includes two nights’ lodging in the Spring Mountain luxury condominiums with breakfast and lunch on both training days, you can bring a buddy if you want for a small fee and they also offer on-site courtesy vehicles.

When the driving course is finally held, it will include two-day V-Performance Academy driver training held exclusively at Spring Mountain and the single-day V-Performance Lab. The latter will be held at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut, and Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas during the remainder of 2016. The academy is open to the buyers of 2017 ATS-V sedan and coupe and CTS-V sedan.

“The V-Series are the most-track capable Cadillac models ever, using exclusive technologies tuned by a select group of dedicated engineers,” said Brandon Vivian, Cadillac executive chief engineer. “These technologies, such as Magnetic Ride Control, Performance Traction Management software and the Performance Data Recorder, set the Cadillac ATS-V and Cadillac CTS-V apart from all other luxury cars and are the tools drivers will experience at the V-Performance Academy.”
