British conglomerate Jaguar Land Rover, as you know, is very fond of elaborate and expensive publicity stunts. In one of their latest efforts promoting the Range Rover they are sponsoring a photographic work called ‘Ultimate Vistas’ in which top photographers visit the most breathtaking places on earth and capture the landscape.
Range Rover’s involvement in all this is about lending a SUV to the photographer for his journeys, so later on he can say how much the car’s Terrain Response 2 system helped him even though he has no idea what that is. But that’s the nature of these sorts of deals. What matters here is that the project has yielded some pretty awesome photos for you enjoy over a beer and a cigarette.
The first batch of Ultimate Vistas sent Norwegian Magnum photographer Jonas Bendiksen around his native land of Norway in search of the coolest places Mother Nature has carved out of the earth as well the best of man-made landscapes. They began the trip in the urban environment of Oslo, where they explored some of the city’s award-winning, innovative architecture, and then pressed on to the North through the Dovre mountains via the epic switchback roads of the Trollstigen as well as snow-covered plateaus and vast fjords of Geiranger and the Art Nouveau-inspired town of Ålesund.
OK that’s enough words. Let’s check out the photos:
