The high-performance crossover market has been experiencing a steady growth over the past couple of years and more and more of the major players in this segment want to get involved. As always, Audi has tried to make the game over before it begins by offering a virtually flawless product in form of the 2018 Audi SQ5.

And as always, the product seems a lot better on paper. Not that 2018 Audi SQ5 is bad or anything, but getting the numbers right is just part of the equation. In order to make a kickass high-performance crossover one needs more than impressive numbers. It also needs to be charming, and that is where we reckon the SQ5 has little to say when compared to stuff like the Macan or the GLC 43.

Having said that, we have to admit we can’t help drooling whenever we see this 2018 Audi SQ5 in Azores Green. In this video you get an up close and personal look at the SQ5 and see in in action as it does acceleration runs and handling tests, and also hear a sample of its exhaust noise:

This enables the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 5.4 seconds, on to an electronically-governed top speed of 250 km/h (155.3 mph). Fuel economy-wise, the SQ5 consumes just 8.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometer (28.3 US mpg) – a CO2 equivalent of 189 grams per kilometer (304.2 g/mi).
