Next month Ferrari will unveil a brand-new special and strictly limited model to celebrate their 60th anniversary in the U.S. This car is considered Luca di Montezemolo’s last big act before he hands over the keys to Ferrari factory to Sergio Marchionne and retires from his position as the CEO of the company.

The special edition Ferrari will be most likely based on an existing model. But limited production run of just 10 units and a coachbuilt body will cause it to be very expensive. Sources mention $3.2 million as the base price for this model, which is more than twice what a LaFerrari costs.

In spite of the mahoosive price tag, all 10 units of this America-only Ferrari are said to be sold out already. The first units will be revealed during a fancy dinner gala in Los Angeles for Ferrari customers and friends on October 12, featuring a blue paint job garnished with white stripes in homage to Ferrari’s official racing colors in America back in the 60s.

America has always been one of the most important markets for Ferrari. Many of their most successful models are inspired by and named after American cities and venues, such as California and Daytona.
