Hyundai revealed today a whole bunch of new products for 2015, all of them designed for the European market. At the top of the list we have the sleek Hyundai i20 Coupe, and after that a new turbocharged version of the i10 hatchback and an updated i40 estate.
The 2015 Hyundai i20 Coupe is a sporty-ish version of the five-door hatchback model with some of the Veloster DNA engineered into its genes. It’s a fairly good-looking car and Hyundai is proud of the fact that it is substantially different from the five-door i20.
Sporty features further separating the i20 Coupe from its humdrum hatchback sibling include vibrant new colors such as Tangerine Orange, rear spoiler, and 17-inch wheels. Apart from those, the Coupe is still a practical Hyundai at heart with a 340 liter boot and a choice of Euro6 engines including petrol and diesel power units from 84 PS to 100 PS. Late in 2015 a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine will be added to the range.
As for the new Hyundai i30 Turbo, the good-natured family hatchback gets the same 186 PS 1.6 liter GDi unit you find in the Veloster Turbo, combined here with a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 8 seconds dead and can reach a top speed of 136 mph.
The new Hyundai i40 meanwhile gets refreshed styling details including an updated design for front and rear lamps, a more sophisticated hexagonal grille, a new front bumper, and new integrated LED fog lamps as introduced in Genesis. Refined engines and powertrain options are also part of the 2015 upgrade.
