When Hennessey is giving 2010 Chevy Camaro an additional 100hp every week, Shelby cannot just sit back and watch! So they’ve came up with their own Super Snake upgrade packages for 2010 Ford Mustang GT. The Shelby 500 GT with 540hp standard is not exactly weak, but with Super Snake treatment you can have it with either 630 or 725 hp! Oh my!

So what kind of modifications you have to implement on that poor V8 to get this much power out of it?! Well, it’s simple! New and bigger superchargers with upgraded intercooler and cold air intake system can do the job. It’s classic American tuning. Super Snake also features a high performance exhaust system which in the 630hp model is made by Borla but for the 725hp version comes form JBA. They also had to fit bigger radiators to keep this monsters cool!

Now you might think over 700 hp with live rear axle? That’s a recipe for chaos! But Shelby has dealt with that too. Racing suspension with adjustable dampers, stiffer springs and thicker antiroll bars along with the 20 inch wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tires and six-piston high performance braking package from Baer, keep the beast in check all the time. But this being a Shelby Mustang, you’d still be able to pull spectacular tail slides very very easily!

To have the Super Snake you have to hand over a Shelby GT500 plus $29,495 for the 630hp package, and if you fancy 725 rampaging stallions at your disposal you gotta pay $33,495, it is a fairly reasonable price for this much horsepower nonetheless.

Shelby also has a plan for regular Mustang GTs. This package bumps the power up to 550 horsepower with the help of a Ford Racing supercharger and Borla exhausts and can be installed on all of the GT models from 2005 to 2009. Handling upgrade for GT includes Eibach suspension with coil-over shocks, struts, pro sway bars, bump steer kit, improved lower control arm bushings and caster/camber plates. Shelby GT SR uses 18 inch wheels with BF Goodrich tires and has the same Baer braking package.
