As you know Porsche Cayman has been made just to fill up the gap in the market between Boxster and the 911. Now apparently this fact has made Berlin-based tuner XTR Carchip quite angry because instead of just tuning it, they’ve turned the Cayman into a complete racing car, but for the streets! It’s called Cayman X-Wide.

XTR has come up with a very wide fiber glass body kit for the Cayman which totally change the looks of the car. This extreme wideness is due to removable fenders, which not only make house for the big wheels, also help with the cooling by providing fresh air through its vents.

Moreover the tuner puts a spoiler lip on the front bumper, along with LED daytime running lights. Then there’s the extra long side skirts, wide rocker panels and a huge rear wing which completes the racing looks of the car.

XTR then got busy with the car’s 3.4 liter boxer engine and with a bit of adjustments increased the power from 295 to 310 hp and maximum torque from 340 to 360 Nm. With the extra umpf, Cayman X-wide is capable of doing 385 km/h.

As for the chassis and handling, the tuner does a good job by installing H&R coilover suspension on both axles and putting BBS racing wheels with central locking under the car. These wheels are 10.5 x18-inches with 265/35 tiers at front and 11.5 x18 inches with 315/30 tires at the rear.
