The standard Porsche 911 might not be quit a looker, but God it looks good as a race car! Behold the magnificence of all-new 2010 911 GT3 R racing machine. It was revealed back in 2009 and now it’s making its debut at the 2010 Autosport International in Birmingham,UK. The car has been developed to comply with FIA GT3 regulations and will be sold to private teams. Porsche says that demand for the new model has been huge and it’s almost sold out.

The GT3 R is the purest form of 911 and it’s always one of the top performers in every race it takes part. The 2010 version too, seems to have all the bases covered to carry on this glorious legacy. Powered by a four-liter six-cylinder boxer engine delivering 480 hp (353 kW) and weighing at only 1,200 Kg, this car is based on the extra-wide body of the street-legal 911 GT3 RS.

Th power is delivered to the rear slick tires via a six-speed sequential gearbox. It also features a fully adjustable racing suspension which includes height-adjustable McPherson struts with variable SACHS two-way shock absorbers and double coil springs (main and auxiliary) at the front, and a rigidly mounted sub-frame with a height-adjustable multi-arm axle, as well as adjustable SACHS two-way shock absorbers and double coil springs a the rear. Other features include anti-lock brake system (ABS), traction control and an e-gas with “throttle-blip” function.

The basic price for 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 R is 279,000 Euro plus national VAT.
