The new refreshed Suzuki Swift is now available on the British market starting from £9,995. The 2011 Swift is by any means a fine car. It comes in three SZ2, SZ3 and SZ4 trim levels all equipped with seven airbags and ESP as standard, have five-star safety rating from EuroNCAP, and cover Euro 5 standard and it’s as reliable as a woodburning stove! And they offer it with zero percent finance right from the launch.

The new model is also grown slightly in length (+90mm) with a 50mm increase in wheelbase and 10mm increase in height. The interior design now has a more dynamic feel, featuring black as its keynote colour with accents of silver throughout the car.

The car comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine incorporating Dual VVT (Variable intake and exhaust Valve Timing) is used that produces 94PS at 6,000rpm, slightly more than the outgoing 1.3-litre unit. Torque is also improved to 118Nm at 4,800rpm. An optional four speed automatic transmission will also be available on SZ3 and SZ4 five door models.

This engine has combined fuel consumption of 56.5mpg and emissions of 116g/km, which means you only have to pay £30 in annual VED charges. Next year there will be a revised 1.3-litre diesel engine option which does even better at 109g/km CO2 and combined fuel consumption of 67.3mpg.

In addition to seven airbags and ESP, SZ2 has front passenger airbag deactivation facility, electric front windows, remote central door locking with deadlocks, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, MP3 / WMA compatible CD tuner with USB port and steering wheel mounted audio controls.

SZ3 adds manual air conditioning and 16” Alloy wheels with SZ4 including Automatic air conditioning, Bluetooth integrated audio unit with music streaming capability, electric front and rear windows, push button keyless start, Automatic headlamps, rear privacy glass (five-door models) and cruise control as standard.

2011 Suzuki Swift comes in nine colors including Smokey Green metallic, Kashmir Blue metallic, Galactic Grey metallic, Silky Silver metallic, Sunlight Copper Pearl metallic, Cosmic Black Pearl metallic, Cool White pearl metallic, Bright Red, and Superior White. Metallic paint is a £390 option.
