Five minutes ago everybody was talking about the Lamborghini LP700-4, but the moment rumors about a new Ferrari hit the web it obscured the Lambo completely! Now everybody wants to know what’s the deal with this Ferrari which apparently is a groundbreaking Shooting Brake.
Most reliable sources are suggesting that the new Ferrari is a replacement for the 612 Scaglietti, set for debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The most recent spyshots have also shown an estate version of a car with the same profile as the 612, but a new front-end reminiscent to that of the 458 Italia. Th idea is that you get the usual supercar features you get with all Ferraris, but it’s a bit practical too, for example it can accommodate your golf clubs very well!
Now based on that info automotive artist Jon Sibal has come up with a fine rendering of the car to give you a preview of the first production shooting brake Ferrari. We like it a lot, but we have to wait and see what exactly Ferrari has in mind!

While THIS rendering comes pretty close to the real thing, the hatch and the longer roofline are not visible here, which spoil the entire car concept. Who on earth wants a genuine 2 door hatch back???? As a 612 driver of 6 years, I got to see the new model F151 in Maranello, in early December 2010, a silver painted specimen with tan colored iterior and was aghast by the long roof line ant the hatch which, below the rear window sports a prominent ugly spoiler, similar to the 7 series BMW’s rear spoiler.
One is reminded of a meremaid with a fish tail. Without the fishtail and equipped with long slender legs a meremaid would obviously have considerably more appeal and make more sense to any straight man…..
